Special Message From Dr. AnneProactive Approach to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
First of all, I want you to know how grateful and blessed I feel to be a Doctor of Chiropractic and to provide greater health and well-being for the members of our community. It’s a gift that allows me to help everyone in our Well Being For Life family to have a healthier spine and nervous system. What is one of the most important benefits of a healthier spine and nervous system? An optimized and efficient immune system.
The whole world is concerned about COVID-19, and precautions are being taken around the world. The United States Surgeon General has urged Americans to take proper defensive measures like washing hands, disinfecting, etc. These suggestions are wise defensive strategies that people should implement.
The key to your health during this state of emergency, and even when there’s not an emergency, is to actively boost and amplify your immune system. Most of the emphasis during this virus outbreak is about being defensive and avoiding the virus. It’s important that you focus on being proactive and strengthen your immune system, so you can live the rest of your life in optimal health and wellness, no matter what’s going on in the world! There are a whole list of things you can do to actively boost and strengthen your immune system. You’re probably well aware of most of them. Simple things like getting enough sleep, getting your spine adjusted, decreasing your sugar intake, and eating healthy, organic foods are great steps toward immune system health.
Right now people are focused on fear and spiraling into fear. It’s prevalent right now in the media, on social media, in your community and maybe even in your family. While that’s going on around you, what can you do to develop a different mindset and energy? What if you chose to amplify peace, love, trust and gratitude? Gratitude boosts your immune system. Amplify gratitude. If you and every member of our Well Being For Life family can amplify a vibration of joy, trust, gratitude, love, and healing, amongst the vibration of fear and uncertainty, the energy can totally change here, in California, and around the world.
When you’re receiving care at Well Being For Life, the focus is to amplify your body’s capacity to heal and to amplify your resourcefulness so that you can better access the power within you that will optimize your immune system. Yes, getting your spine adjusted is absolutely wise advice. You can be an agent of change, and help others, by amplifying your light of love, joy, gratitude and peace. You can make a difference in the state around you, even if it’s a state of emergency, by the state that you carry, amplify, and project. Instead of bringing more fear into the world, bring more light!
With much appreciation and gratitude for you,
Dr. Anne Jenkins, D.C. and the Well Being For Life Team
How we are being proactive
As a valued member of the Well Being For Life family, the trust you place in us is greatly valued. As the concerns about COVID-19 intensify, please know that steps are being taken to ensure your safety at home and when you visit us.
All recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), US Department of Health and the CA Department of Health are being monitored, taken seriously, and implemented.
Housekeeping and infection-control procedures have been intensified, and diligence with hand washing and use of hand sanitizers has been increased. You are strongly encouraged to wash your hands when you first walk into the office, as are all practice members. Our chiropractic tables will be wiped down with EPA-approved disinfectant products between each session. I will be hand-washing and sanitizing between each person. Office furniture, door knobs, and all other surfaces that are frequently touched by our members will be wiped down frequently with disinfectants.
Most people who do get sick will only experience the typical signs of the common cold or flu. Those most at risk are seniors and those of any age who are immunocompromised such as those with heart, lung or immune disorders, and diabetes. If you have special concerns please call and discuss this with our team.
For anyone over 60 years of age AND suffering from immunocompromized states such as diabetes, lung issues (COPD/Asthma) or other chronic medical issues that may require medications like prednisone which affects one’s immune system, we ask that for your health and safety, please inform us when scheduling your appointment. To minimize your risk, we will schedule your appointment time for when no other clients will be in the office. Additionally, we are willing to extend our hours as necessary to ensure we can take care of everyone who wants to be seen by us. Even home visits may be an option, so please don’t hesitate to ask!
If you have a fever with or without a cough, shortness of breath, or have had a fever in the past 21 days; or if you were exposed to anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19, please call our office so we can discuss what we believe to be the most appropriate action for you (self-quarantine may be in order). Some people with these symptoms may need medical care, but that does not mean they wouldn’t also benefit from a chiropractic adjustment… we just want to keep everyone in our community safe and prevent avoidable spreading of the virus. One of the best ways to keep your immunity strong is with regular chiropractic care.
If at any point during this time your family experiences extreme hardship, please let us know. We will do our best to support you and everyone in our Well Being For Life family. We may have access to supplies if they are unavailable to you and may be able to help with arranging food and/or grocery delivery if your family is ill.
At Well Being For Life, your health and vitality is of our utmost importance. Rest assured that every measure is being taken and addressed for your health and safety.
Steps You Can Take Now to be Proactive in Preventing the Coronavirus (COVID-19):
- Keep your immune system strong by getting regular chiropractic adjustments.
- Increase the frequency of your chiropractic care between now and June 1, 2020.
- Wash your hands often for 20 seconds with warm water and soap. Focus on thumbs and especially fingertips.
- Get plenty of sleep each night. If you have difficulty sleeping, ask for a recommendation for a natural supplement to enhance your ability to sleep.
- Eat a healthy diet and limit your intake of sugar as this is known to lower immunity.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as much as possible.
- Consider using preventive supplements to boost your immunity such as Agrisept-L, Elderberry (syrup or lozenges), probiotics and daily Vitamin C intake.
- Avoid non-essential travel.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid being around others if you become sick.
- Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue or inside of elbow instead of your hand. Throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands afterward.
- Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces at home such as doorknobs, light switches, faucets, toilets and countertops.
- Please note the CDC recommends that face masks only be worn by those who are sick.
We will update you with how you can be proactive at home to protect yourself and your family, as more information becomes available.
